Whats in a share?
Each week, you will get a variety of produce from the farm based on what is available. That means you're getting fruits, vegetables, and herbs at their peak - when mother nature deems them ready. You will always get a salad green, a saute green, herbs, fruits, and vegetables. But if the tomatoes aren't ready August 1, you'll have to be patient. Find excitement in the anticipation.
Shares come by the bushel - not by weight. What's a bushel? It's a measurement of dry capacity equal to 32 quarts. That's a lot of veg for just $35. A bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck...

Blooming Hill Farm
Blooming Hill is a sorta heaven-on-earth kind of place. The kind of place where people gather around big farm tables in the waning summer sun, and feast on bountiful platters of beautiful food harvested from the land around them. At the head of the table is the most badass farmer on the east coast, Guy Jones.
Guy started farming in the Hudson Valley in the early eighties, selling vegetables at farmers' markets locally and in New York City at the Union Square Greenmarket. He brought in his wide variety of specialty produce, and caught the attention of some pretty hot chefs (think Bouley, Batali, Colicchio). Blooming Hill still sells to some of the finest restaurants in NYC - the ones that care about their ingredients.
Today Blooming Hill is still known for our unaltered, eclectic and broad produce offerings, growing and foraging over 200 varieties of fruits and vegetables on a hundred acres in Orange County, NY. Sounds pretty dreamy. They even do brunch. Check them out!

Support Your Local Farm
Community supported agricultural is exactly what it sounds like. When you purchase a share from a small farm, you are helping them through the expensive and laborious growing season. When the fruits (literally) of their labor become available, CSA members reap the wholesome benefits.
Buying a share of the CSA is much like buying a share in the stock market: when the farm has a successful season, its members benefit with a bounty of beautiful produce. If the farm suffers from severe weather conditions, plague, or other disasters, the farm is protected from financial ruin. Sounds like a win-win, amiright?
Why is it important to support your local farm?
- you will support your local economy
- you will support your local landscape
- you will support ecologically and morally sound farming practices
- you shorten the supply chain
Blooming Hill is an entirely organic farm that uses sustainable farming practices to grow and forage over 200 varieties of fruits and vegetables on a hundred acres in Orange County, New York. Good farming practices = healthier food for you and your family.
This is the best challenge we know for the person who wants to cook more. When you receive your share, you will cook more often, more seasonally, more healthily, and more beautifully. You will have the opportunity to get creative along the way, and the culinary staff at Hudson Table is here to inspire you with recipes and tips every week!
